Hellow

I am Raphael, an around 20-year-old guy from Austria (age is subject to change, and I am subject to forgetting to update everything). After finishing my engineering school for mechatronics in June 2024, I started studying computer science, which continues until today.

Due to my background as a mechatronics engineer (even though I do not carry the *title* engineer yet, as I have to earn it through working yet), I am quite interested in automation or making small projects with microcontrollers.

The first time I really programmed something was way back in 2013, when I watched my dad coding something in the database program Microsoft Access, which had the feature of coding something in Visual Basic. I played around with it in my own Access files, until I got a book that taught me C#, which I would use for many years as my main language. Sure, I learned some other programming languages like C for microcontrollers, Java initially for Minecraft, and HTML + CSS for websites (I still do not really understand JavaScript, though). For all of you who actually know a bit about PLCs, I also learned ST, KOP, and FUP, and I hate FUP.

While being enrolled in the university, I focused more on C, and I am currently in the process of learning Rust, because I wanted to have a feasible alternative to C. Even though I still do not know a lot about it, I really like it.

I made this website because I found out a lot of my online coding fellas also had their own website. So I tried it myself. What you see here is the result of quite some iterations over several months and some technical difficulties; you can read more in my note about that.

And to finish, some personal facts about me: I think cats are really the best animals out there, I really love chocolate, and my favorite games are Minecraft, Satisfactory, Factorio, and Peak. I switched 100% to Linux at the end of 2024 and never looked back to my Windows days, and yes, I sometimes feel superior to Wintoes users because of that :P
